A Tribute to Giacomo Leopardi
The inspiration for the Leopardi Writing Conference is the life and work of one of Italy's most famous sons: the poet Giacomo Leopardi. Born in 1798, Leopardi is a towering presence in the history of Italian letters, and a key influence on the development of Romanticism in Europe. Founded in 2018, the Conference originated in Recanati, Italy, the birthplace of Leopardi, and like its namesake has since travelled throughout beautiful regions of Italy, and currently is held in Udine.
